Panel: Organizing to Influence Public Consultations
Kassandra Cordero lives and works in the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish First Nations, known as East Vancouver, British Columbia. Kassandra is the Director of Equity and Human Rights at the BC Federation of Labour, her areas of responsibility include women’s rights, human rights, international solidarity and Indigenous relations.
Before working for the BC Federation of Labour, Kassandra got her start in the labour movement helping to organize her workplace into UFCW 1518. Kassandra worked as an organizer and servicing representative with the union before working as a facilitator with the BC Federation of Labour and eventually accepting a Director position with the organization.
When not at work Kassandra serves as the president of her constituency association for the British Columbia New Democratic Party in Vancouver- Mount Pleasant.
In her spare time Kassandra enjoys making music, practicing yoga, and hiking with her dog.
