The Canadian Freshwater Alliance will facilitate a panel on water organizing in British Columbia, showing how groups organize for environmental protection through the lens of water. Water is a connector, and engages people of a variety of persuasions and backgrounds: First Nations communities, environmentalists, scientists, naturalists, anglers, and more. This diversity of backgrounds and orientations means that groups use a variety of tactics--from political campaigns to volunteer environmental monitoring, and all in between. This panel will explore how different groups mobilize through the lens of water to respond to environmental threats.
Presenters: Christine Mettler, Canadian Freshwater Alliance; Shannon McPhail, Skeena Watershed Conservation Coalition; other panelists to be announced soon!
